Only thing I'm givin her is the wheel bearings. They do suck on our cars. But the replacement frequency is a little high, even for such POS bearings...Me thinks the people she goes to are hammering the bearings in eek , causing catastrophic , early failures...

BTW, can someone tell her to buy a terrcel next time? that way she can weld the hood shut, never do any maintenance, and it will still run 100K...

That site is old. I found it last year, but never bother posting it since most of that list of repair is maintenance stuff. That list is considerably less than my list of repair already! But the thing I have to say is a problem is definitely the wheel bearing. I replaced my right front wheel bearing2 times and they kept going bad in about half a year. Now, I'm running a brand new steering knuckle (with new hub and new bearing already pressed in), and hopefully it'll last at least 60k miles. The left front bearing has also been replaced, except this was done at a shop that works primarily on BMW's, Porsches, Mercedes... That one is gone now also, so I'm going to put a new steering knuckle in too.

How much do you know about the car before it was purchased? Was it beat on, were the fluids changed at regular intervals? If you ignore and pound on a tranny, it sure can go out in 4 years.

"brake torquing" an automatic is particularly abusive, it heats the fluid up quite a bit, and heat is what causes transmission fluid to break down. Wouldn't do it to a car I cared about!

Haha Mangler very true, a terdcel will never require any work, a good friend of mine has a paseo which is like a terdcel or a corolla with different sheetmetal or something, anyway she has 115k miles and NEVER a repair, only oil and filter changes! eek eek
