big asteroid came very close the other day to knocking out the earth , note none told us People until after it passed.

im surprised that the media didnt catch wind of this one, would make great headline:
"earth in peril-mankind on the brink of eradication!"

Yes if it hit us, the after shock would kill and destory everything on earth...

my astronomy professor says no not big enough and if it hit land there wouldnt be much problem with waves. he says that the only big problem (other than total annihilation of the area around ground zero) would be a cloud of dust and that might cause trouble for crops

I seen on discovery where they said if one size of a football field hit the earth it at that speed it would kill everything, like the shock of a nuke!

nah ones the side of a football field have already hit, theres one in arizona or something that was couple thousand feet across, possible the one that knocked out the dinos. this one would have been a problem but not definitely one that would kill us all

thought it was the size of a car that one hit? oh well need to do some research online

thats not what i thought maybe im wrong but i know the crater is huge, thought the asteroid was too maybe not
