It was extremely easy (this is the first circuit I have ever made). The last time I soldered something was when I was a kid...and I think I just would solder metal together for the heck of it. Check it out: http://communities.msn.com/FUsefacesContourPics/mileliminators.msnw?Page=1 If anyone has any experience with these...and something looks wrong...please let me know. Cya Mike

Do you have an aversion to solder and shrink wrap? Looks like it will work fine. Are you using 3 of them?

What's shrink wrap for? I am by no means an electrician....(like I said in the other post). About the only thing I use shrinkwrap for is to ....well, I guess I dont use it at all...unless its on my windows in the winter. Seeya Mike

Why would he need three? You only need one for each of the down stream O2 sensors... Also, Mr. Fuseface, are you sure that's a 1 MFD cap and not a 1 PFD cap? Looks awful small... Even my 1/4 watt 1MFD cap is a little tube rather than a wafer style... Just making sure...

Well, I just bought all the parts that were on that site with the schematics for the MIL. I followed the part numbers from Radioshack. I asked the guys there, and even showed them the picture...just to be sure. They said they dont see why the ones I got wouldnt work, and they couldnt exactly see what was on the MIL in the pic. So, I dunno.
Why 3? Well, I was having so much fun soldering...I figured ..what the hell. If I had more parts here, I would have kept on going!
OH..just looked at the package of one of those cap's...it says: 1.0 MFD Tantalum Capacitor...I guess its right.
Thanks for the input...

[/QB]Because it cuts down on the draft here in Buffalo...not exactly shrinkwrap...but plastic you heat with a hairdryer, and it shrinks to fit the window....The windows in my apartment are pretty bad, it is drafty. I had a Scirocco a while ago that I put a header on. It didn't have a boss for the O2 sensor so I blew a hole in the header with torches and welded a nut the correct size for the sensor over the hole. Then I just screwed the sensor into the hole.
Would this approach work for a 'tour instead of elecronic eliminator gizmos? Just curious . . .

CAM2, the purpose of the MIL eliminator is not to take the O2 sensor out of the car, but to fool the computer into thinking a gutted out or removed catalytic converter is still present and functioning properly.... there is no problem on mounting the O2 sensor into the pipe, but if you have no cat, the signals to the computer from the sensor will trip the CEL unless you put the aforementioned MIL eliminators in place..... hope this clears things up.
