I have had my res removed for about 2 weeks and I love the sound. I really hate the drone. When it's cold, it sounds really raspy, but once it warms up, it sounds great.
I've talked to my local muffler shop about a Flomaster in place of the res, and no factory mufflers, but he wants alot. It would be cheaper for me to Cardoc's exhaust. And I'm going to!
