I saw a couple of TSB's on www.alldata.com that I would like my Ford dealer to perform on my 98 SVT. This is espicially true of TSB 97-22-3 "Moose fix". I know Recall work is free of charge, but what about TSB work? I wouldn't think they would charge me for this. What if my warranty is gone?

TSB work is covered under your extended warranty, and your 5/50 emissions warranty if the TSB is for emissions.

TSB's are for information and do not provide for any extension of warranties. Recalls and their close cousins, Owner Notification Programs, do that. If you want the work done, you may need to pay for it yourself if the car is out of warranty. Sometimes you may be able to get some help from Ford as an After Warranty Adjustment, especially if you had documented problems before the car went out of warranty.

If the part that needs to be replaced is on the list of covered items on a Ford ESP plan that you have purchased AND if you are experiencing the problem that the TSB addresses it would be a covered repair with the appropriate deductable.

The same holds true if the part is on the emissions parts covered list, but most emissions parts these days are only covered for the bumper to bumper to bumper warranty.

Also, the TSB is very specific as to what it covers. For example if the TSB states that it is for 96 V6 engines, then it cannot be performed on a 99 car.

I hope this helps.

I've been assuming 98's and up had the Moose-fix or the redesign?
Might want to check on the lastest thing everyone messing with "cracking open the secondaries a tiny clearance"
I just tried it on mine turned the adjust screw one full turn* and reset the PCM. It's improved driveablity for me even with the air on.

*the dingus-adapter hiding under the main throttle body. Looks like the old Fords throttle linkage, wrapped w/spring, cable from the IMRC and the rod linkages from it to the secondary shafts.
