What conclusion did you come to? Did ya get to go and look the Porsche over? Inquiring minds want to know. After tires, battery, exhaust, cd player, and accelerator pump diaphram, I am still less than a grand in the car. One thing is for sure, I wish I were more mechanically capable. It would make repair costs considerably less if I could do the work myself. Duh.

Drop us a line and let everyone know whats up.

Almost forgot. The secret to affordable parts for a Corvette, is to not tell them it is a Corvette. Many parts are also used on F bodies and other V-8 GM cars. In most cases, they are the exact same part number. When I had to replace a motor mount on the '85 Corvette I had, the dealer quoted me a price over the phone of something like $60 for the part. When I went to the dealership to get one, I told them I needed one for a 87 GTA (Trans AM) at the suggestion of an auto savvy friend. $25. It was a perfect fit, and saved me the $35 Corvette Tariff. Now I know why service managers eyes light up when you ask about service for a Vette.
