Well, i figure it's blocking most of the heat that's rising off of the tranny and most of the heat coming from the engine. I suppose I could have made the thing a little wider (about an inch) and made that angle cut to accomidate, but I guess I didn't really want to interfere with the wiring/cables/etc. In theory, I could add another side to it if I wanted (I'd probably use some clear silicon adhesive). I didn't want to hug the filter too close, either...I think that would be restricting airflow.
