I copied this from a piece on www.vwvortex.com about the new GTi that is coming here soon. Because of our reader involvement in petitioning Volkswagen of America to bring this car over, Volkswagen will offer our readers exclusively the ability to go online and submit a sales request for a GTI 337 a full week before the general public. Around the middle of March we will announce the special Internet address that readers can go to and start the sales process. We'll have full details on this very special offer within a few weeks, so check our home page regularly for updates The bold type is mine. Ah come on Ford....if VW can listen to their customers like this, why the hell can't you ?? I've half a mind to send this to someone in Dearborn....

I think they are listening...and what they mostly hear is I will pay a lot for a big clunky suv I want it to be just like a station wagon or minivan but not to look like one so I can pretend I am a real man driving a manly truck those times when my wife lets me drive it. ...or I want a taurus with a v6 and automatic...

I just wish Ford would hear from those sensible people that tell them to utilize their space, technical, and labor resources efficiently and make both the V6 ATX Taurus/SUV/Truck type vehicles, and include a line of performance vehicles.
You don't have to choose, make both!

Actually we at SVT are listening. As a matter of fact we got a lot of input on the SVT Focus from the forum members at focaljet.com. Including whether or not there was interest in a ZX5 version. To add to that we are not only listening we are conversing.

So Troy, not to try to put you on the spot, but what are you looking to provide for those of us that want a performance car, but need some practicality, and have outgrown small cars either in class or by practical need? (And don't want to spend prestige car prices to get it?)
Basically, what do you plan to offer those people who have owned GTI's, Civic Si's, Escort GT/ZX2/ZX3, and are ready to make a step up in the world, but aren't ready for or don't want a BMW?
P.S. I would love to have words with the designer who designed the Focus' awful driving position. Who ever thought it would be comfortable to drive in a desk chair?

(And don't want to spend prestige car prices to get it?) You mean like me? Realistically the only vehicle we could do that fits this category is the Taurus. I'd love to see us do a Taurus my SHO is almost 10 years old P.S. I would love to have words with the designer who designed the Focus' awful driving position. Who ever thought it would be comfortable to drive in a desk chair? We did lower the driver position some in our SVT Focus, it's actually the only part of the seat that's power. The feature of the seats I like the most is the rotary recline.
