The cabin filter filters the air coming into the pasenger compartment. If you notice a foul smell with your air on, it is time to change the filter. I should have changed mine a year ago. I finally did a few months ago and it was very black and STUNK!!! It takes 15-30 minutes to change and is definately worth the time. I'll be doing mine yearly from now on.
