If they wanted to do the excursion they could use the 10.0L boss engine out of the prototype boss 429 from 1994 i think thats what year it was.That is a sweet engine(over 830hp), or s/c 6.0L v-12.

Personally I think making a SUV fast is kinda wasting your money. Why not take a fairly light car pump it up with steroids (hp) and sell that, without the inflated profit margins of SUV's.

The Taurus, now that would be sweet, and you could make it fast without needing your own personal oil well to fuel it.

Now on the optimistic side, has anyone seen the shots of the new Jaguar X-type, R (in European Car) apparently with a super charger!! Now if Ford could bring back the Contour/Mondeo like they did with the Focus and resource some of those Jag parts into an SVT package, but maybe that's being too optimistic.

I'd like to see an svt Taurus since they got rid of the sho. I mean they're so proud of the fact that its their best selling car why not make a new performance version of it for the enthusiasts. Also an Svt Lincoln LS would be awesome.

SVT = Ford

Lincoln wouldn't really count, believe me I thought the same thing you did. Its probably the only car directly related with Ford I'd like to see SVT'ed. wink

I personally think SVT should stop with the Lightning. They did a very nice job on it and I don't mind pickups being promoted. The problem is if an SUV(which is all thats left for SVT)made it thru SVT they'd just become even more popular than they already are. And I don't think any of us want that!! We need to let the SUV's alone and wait for them to fade out of popularity.

But if I have to pick I say the Explorer. Its the only one that deserves to made an SVT vehicle.

Excursion-waste of money. It'd be the first SUV rated by the EPA in gallons per mile instead of mpg.
Expedition-same thing, too big, don't bother
Explorer-top seller, nice vehicle, worthy of SVT...no sport edition though.
Explorer sport trac-too new, wouldn't fit the SVT image
Escape-oh please :rolleyes:

Don't you think it odd that the SVT shop has pissed away so much time on the SVTFocus...and it's not even out yet. The real 'focus' has been on the SVT 'stang and the Lightning. The Focus already has the VibeGT to contend with, and it's late to the market. Wish Ford would take a clue from Jag and Audi and concentrate on a decent midsize 4wd cp/4d. The world has ENOUGH suv's and sport trux.

98 CSVT, basic mod's, my slowest car yet but still faster than the wife's Talon Tsi AWD. Not by much, though. Now if I could get the back wheels to do something....

HaHa, because Ford doesn't have ENOUGH money. The profit margin on SUV's is huge right now so thats all some of the companies care about. laugh
