I went to a local auto place that sells parts for cars(obviously) and asked the guy for advice on a K&N. He suggested to take of the resonator and just get a sraight pipe, one with an elbow, and then lead it to the cylinder type filter, the ones u see on peoples svt's. If u undertood what i just said let me know if uve done anything like this. Later

You would get warmer air(less power) than using stock airbox with an open element. The noise level would be louder, which some people like.

this has been an argument for meny times, I say at stopping times the Cold-air set up does pull in warm to hot air but when moving its pulls more fresh air then the open air filter
