Does anyone know the colors of the wires and the location?

I don't know about about your alarm module but the ford one-touch down relay must be placed inbetween the switch and motor in order to work. The only place to get to that portion of the circuit is inside the passenger door.

Assuming it doesn't rain this weekend, I'll take the door panel off to take some pics and write up the how-to.

Give me a day or 2 to compile the information and write up some instructions.

Brian, can you estimate the cost of the relay and I'll guess on the wire and connectors.

I've got one done that I'll post as soon as I can retreive it.

I was upgrading my drive last week and a power failure knocked out both the old drive and the new one. Some friends here at work are recovering the data and I should have it back by Wed.

My drives are back and fixed so without further ado here are the instructions:

How-To Add Passenger One-Touch Down

Parts list
(1) Ford one-touch down relay (F5RZ14Z118A)
(4)16-14g Female quick disconnects
(2) but connectors
(2) splice connectors
Some wire

The one-touch relay works when it is placed in-between the window switch and the window motor. By placing it between the switch and motor on the passenger door, you'll be able to use one-touch down from the passenger or driver's switch for the window.

All the disclaimer stuff: I am not responsible for any problems, damage or warranty issues which may arise from following these instructions. I highly recommend using a multi-meter to determine which wires are which. The color of the wires in your car can be confusing and may not match what is printed in the service manual.

First start by removing the passenger door panel and carefully peeling back the foam. You'll also probably want to remove the speaker for better access. Notice the oblong opening with 2 small holes on either side on the upper left portion of the door. This is where you should mount the relay. The relay should fit in the hole with the tabs on the outside of the sheet metal. Use screws to hold it in place (but not now). Make sure you have enough wire to run from this location (or wherever you choose) to the switch for all 4 tabs on the relay.

Locate the following wires in the door:
Power – This goes from the wire bundle coming into the door into the switch. In the 2000 Contour service manual diagram this wire is violet/blue.

Ground - This goes from the wire bundle coming into the door into the switch. In the 2000 Contour service manual diagram this wire is black.

Wire from switch to motor – This wire goes from the switch to the #1 pin on the window motor. In the 2000 Contour service manual diagram this wire is yellow/violet. It should have power when the switch is pressed to move the window down.
The wire from the switch to motor will need to be cut and each end attached to a tab on the relay.

The relay itself has 4 tabs numbered 1, 2, 3, 5. The female quick disconnects should fit right over the tabs. You may have to squeeze the metal portion of the quick disconnect a bit to get a tight fit.
The wires should be connected as follows:
Tab 1: Tap the wire going to the switch in the door for ground.
Tab 2: Tap the wire going to the switch in the door for power.
Tab 3: Use a but splice to connect to the (cut) wire from the switch.
Tab 5: Use a but splice to connect to the (cut) wire from the motor.

Connect all the wires and test it. You should now have one-touch down!
