I've emailed Purolator for a distrib. here in Canada. No reply since last week. ( http://www.pureoil.com/home.htm) Have you been to Walmart? Mobil 1 oil filter is a rebranded Puro. I remember buying my Mobil 1 oil there last year?

I think that the Mobil 1 is a Champion according the the oil filter study.
I will take a run down there at lunch and see what they have.

Wasted trip! All they have is Fram krap and AC Delco. I checked the AC Delco cross reference and there is no listing for Contour/Mystique/New Cougar.

That sucks. I guess I'll be getting a WIX.
Hmmm, that guys website doesn't sound too bad.
"Wix Another quality oil filter similar in design to the Purolator. It has metal end caps on the filter element, a standard nitrile anti-drainback valve, and a seemingly good flow. They are manufactured by the Dana corperation. These appear to have a depth gradient filter element, which uses cotton fibers to progressively trap smaller particles as they get deeper in the filter. This helps maintain good flow as the filter gets plugged. "

Yeah, I will just stick with the Ford (Wix) filter for now. Maybe if Gerald does go to Michigan he can grab some for us.

I thought I had seen these somewhere. If I remember correctly, I saw them at either Walmart or at a store called TSC (Tractor Supply Company) They are usually located in small towns. The one I do know of is in Alliston. If you search on the internet in yellowpages.ca you may be able to find others. I am not 100% sure, but I know I've seen them somewhere. Good Luck.
