Hey no problem on the delay Mike; I'm just trying to make plans as best I can. I will personally be up your way next Sunday (the 20th) and I'll be around the whole week. Worldtour and another guy from the club will be up north that Thursday afternoon, we're going to head over to Atlanta to check things out & get the specific schedule & maps. Depending on when things start, we'll be back in Atlanta on Friday and we're definitely planning to be there early on Saturday, depending on when the racing starts but we want to make it to the pits & check out the cars before we head out to the stage so it will be early. We should all just meet up in Gaylord & go out together...we'll have four people with us & we'll most likely be driving a Focus ZX-3, unless Todras wants to rally his 'tour

I'll call you next week & we'll make some definite arrangements!

Well, since a few others are staying in Gaylord on Friday, me, worldtour, todras and another club crownie who's too cool to get a PC will be staying up there as well. Made reservations for the four of us at the Super 8. Should be fun, and now we won't have to get up so damn early on Saturday

just booked a couple of rooms at the quality inn in gaylord for thursay and friday nights (we need to take over back to kzoo saturday evening). there will be three of us, my buddy with the '01 steeda'd 'stang GT converible (nope not drivin') and a girl from puerto rico who loves rally car racing (she's only been in the states for a week!) she is going to freeze!!!

What time you going to be in Gaylord on thurs? Me, Mark & Greg will be over in Atlanta thursday afternoon gathering information, maps etc.

we won't leave kzoo until 5 at least (cause of work) so we will be late thursday night. still in time for a beer - there's always time for that last beer - but late. mapquest puts it at 4 1/2 hours, so i'll say 3 1/2 (i'm driving toltec) or so. that puts us at the hotel at around 8:30 or 9:00. you going to grab info packs for all of us see ya then............

On clear roads you can make this trip in roughly 3 1/2 hours...that's driving around 75 MPH with no stops. If you're leaving from the K-zoo area your absolute quickest way is actually to go I-94 east to I-69 north to US-27 north. US-27 will then merge with I-75 just south of Grayling, and then it's another 30 miles or so to Gaylord. Trust me, I've made this trip MANY times. Actually, my record from Portage to Higgins Lake (about 40 miles south of Gaylord) is 2 hrs. 46 min...that was traveling 80-85 MPH and doesn't include the 15 minutes I spent on the side of the road being interrogated by John Q. State trooper
This also gets you away from the lake effect snow bands that hit 131. Hell, even for ferret boy Todd in GR it may be better to run 96 over to Lansing & go 27 north, espically if the lake effect is going on.
