A brand new, original equipment, factory genuine Right rear strut resides in the Greenie. along with a fresh set of rear swaybar bushings, total cost? $25.00!! My good buddies at Simmons in Vicksburg took care of it on a Warrenty program. Funny how no other dealer new of this? I'm telling you, the society should work with these guys on some discounts. I'm going to try my new strutage on the winding roads of New England next week, please let it be dry!! c-ya cp

Hey, glad you got it taken care of! I'm glad Simmons Ford worked for ya...I WAS taking my 'tour there for warranty work, but the last time I was REALLY disappointed in them. I was complaining of some vibration when the car was under load (like while sitting at a light, remember this is an ATX). I was assuming the car had a weak motor mount & then engine was flexing enough to come in contact with something it shouldn't. The car ran fine, but for whatever reason they did a full engine diagnosis & charged me $80 some bucks (which my warranty didn't cover since there wasn't anything wrong). Afterwards I specifically mentioned the motor mounts. They kept it another day, only to say the motor mounts were fine but the alternator was missing some bracket and that that could cause my noise??? I asked how, and they couldn't give me an explanation. I then asked if they could do any real, honest to goodness mechanical diagnosis WITHOUT a computer...they weren't impressed (neither was I.) I yanked the 'tour out of there and, since the batt light WAS coming on from time to time had autozone test it (for free...found the alt. was weak.) Then I took the car to Max Trans, where at least I knew I was dealing with people who could still actually use experience along with computer tech to diagnose a problem. They installed a new alternator under warranty...I then asked them about this missing bracket and they found no evidence of anything missing at all. Everything bolted up right where it should have, with no empty spots to speak of. Sorry for the rant...I've never liked dealing with dealer service departments. I thought I'd give Simmons a try, and actually my first visit was alright, but that last visit just put a real bad taste in my mouth I'm still waiting to get the 'tour into the body shop. I have an appointment with Dunshee on the 27th...There seems to be some new clunking under the car since it got punted, so I'll see if I can get the insurance to do some work underneath for me

Sorry to hear it, Seeyle did about the same for me, with my Tempo, Ranger, Taurus, and both 'Tours. I tried many other places, but have yet to find the level I'm accustom to. I guess I expect them to work like we do at Duncan, but then I didn't spend $20 mil for the 'Tour either! I'll try to put these problems out of my mind as I carve the twisties in New England next week! cya cp :p

I've always been taught... "If you want a job done right, do it yourself." e.g. Seelye hacked my sub-frame on my SHO, the car wash on Stadium Drive scratched the %$#@ out of my SHO, and just today while I had my alt checked out at Autozone, he dropped the clamps on my fender. I tell you, I can't trust anybody to work on my cars!
