The instructions you gave me the other day say nothing about using the spring compressor while the strut is on the car. In fact, the instructions actually make a point about not having to use the compressor while the struts are on the car. they just say to use it while undoing the top nut to remove the spring from the strut. in the past i have just put the strut on its side in some grass with one foot on the spring while using an impact on the lock nut and presto, it comes off with minimal movement. Just wondering if anyone has done it this way?
