I was looking for a intake for my 99 ZETEC ATX , but Iam worried about water in my engine . Is their any hardware that can be used to protect against this.

I've never had a problem with my CTA intake and water.... an D Davis hasn't had a problem with the CIA being developed for us that's on his car... I can't think of anyone having a problem with water getting into the engine with any aftermarket intake on here.

I'm yet to have any problems with my CTA. 5 months and the filter's still clean! I wouldn't worry too much about agua in the engine unless you're flying through puddles (gotta keep the rocker panels clean).

Beats: Kenwood 316S, Alpine MRF200, Orion XTR 6.2, Coustic 400SE
Mods: CTA, Magnaflow exhaust, SVT Instrument cluster, Knuaberized doors, side markers, F***ed up painted headlights.

won't ddavis's intake, take in water??? i know i wouldn't have to worry with one in the engine bay, but isn't his right at water level and more open???

It probably would but you can get a bypass. AEM makes one. wink

I may sound stupid but I got to ask is their a CARB exempt intake for my tour out there

I don't know if the CTA is but I can't see why it would affect emissions. confused

usually water isn't a problem with them unless the street has a lot of freestanding water.
