I was originally planning to do something like this. I dropped the idea when I tried to calculate how fast I'd have to go to get any noticeable ram pressure boost from pointing the tube into the wind... and I concluded that it would just start to make a difference as one approaches 100 MPH. So I decided it wouldn't be worth the increased risk of debris and rainwater getting into the intake.
