I used the smaller recommendation hole size and I got some severe chugging. Up'd the hole diameter and chugging went away. I do notice a slight low/mid rangish power decrease, but I don't like the TH...

Drawbacks for me:

Cold weather = stalling at startup. I just got used to giving it just a little gas to help 'er out the first 20 seconds or so.

Possible midrange power loss, along with a slightly more abrupt transition when the secondaries open up.

But it was worth it to get rid of the stupid throttle hang. Now the throttle response is MUCH better.

Play with the hole diameter. You might want to have a cold-weather (bigger diameter) and warm-weather (smaller) plug. Once the plugs are drilled out, it takes 2 minutes to replace (literally).

Remember, you can always remove the plug if you don't like it.

Enjoy!

After a year and a half, my SVT developed the dread moose last fall when the weather turned cold. I did the TH fix and killed the moose. Throttle response seemed ok, so I was satisfied. When the weather turned warm again this spring, I used the A/C and found the car was VERY difficult to drive smoothly - really felt like there was no low end power. So I took out the plug and was suprised at how much better the throttle response was. I don't want to go back, or maybe I need to change the hole size next winter.

This seems to go against the above post that suggests a smaller hole in the summer. I get better warm weather response with no plug at all.

screw the hang, my rpms never go down during shifting, they stay constant. is that typical? ive been to ford 3 times and like you would have guessed it, it didn't do it all three times. I am so upset that i may be very near seeking legal action regarding the lemon law. we should not have to fix our own cars if there is a wide spread problem!! I dont recall ford telling me i may have to fix my own car after i bought it regardting the hang. if they would have told me it was going to "hang" when i bought it i wouldn't have bought it. it sucks really, it jumps into every gear and it sucks gas. and most of all, its no fun to drive. ok im done venting. haha..
