My guess would be that it's that extra ?m? in your timming that is chewing up your belt. There's only supposed to be one ?m? in ?timing?, and there's really only room for one ?m?. You cram an extra ?m? in there, and it seems obvious to me that your belt will drag against it, with results very much like those shown in your picture.
Make certain, when your dealer replaces that belt, that he removes that extra ?m? from your timming.

Replaced burned/melted blower switch and connector on 19 February 2002 with a 1P3T toggle switch from Marvac and a Molex connector from Rat Shack; I guess this now makes three mods.)
