After the engine is warmed up and you are driving for awhile with AC/etc off. Just let me know if it is cold/warm outside and if it halfway, 1/4, whatever. It's summer and mine is almost halfway.

I've got a CTA intake and my temp guage somtimes goes all the way to the A, especially when idling. I think it's because of the new thermostat I got, I think they gave me one rated to open at a higher temp. I'm going to replace it with my old one (which never was bad, just needed a new temp sending unit) and see how it goes!

Edit: Sorry, forgot. The temperature usually doesn't get about 75 here. Erie is hell on earth and our summer lasts about 2 weeks here.

Mine will damn near make it all the way over to the red. But always come back to the halfway point.

What could cause this?

Mine is about on "M".

From what I've heard, the inconsistency is in the sloppy-ass dashboard guage, not in the actual engine temperature, which is supposedly more consistent from car to car than the needle position is.

R to M depending on how much sitting still I have to do in traffic

after another semi coolant change with the upper radiator hose my guage reads M. When sitting in traffic or getting off a highway to a stop it jumps to L but then the fan cools it back down with a very short run time
