OK I had a hard time finding a place with plugs for the Zetec. Well I found some at Autozone. They had Motor Craft and champion, Motor Craft Platinum and champion double platinum. All happy got em home and damit this is screwey. Looking in the Hayens book for gap. I find out the plugs are different. Cylinders 1&2 are AZFD-22F and 3&4 are AZFS-32FE in the book. But in the car 1&2 are AZFS-32F and 3&4 are AZFS-32FE. I bought the car little over a year ago from ford, and I thought they would have changed plugs before selling it, but the ones in there are junk. They are rusted around the nut and the electrode is very thin. I hated putting them back in till I solve the problem. Question what is up with this. Do they have to be different or what. Sorry so long but hay, Thanks for any help on this. ....Brad

they use the same plug for all 4 I personal use Autolite Platinum Pro's APP5344 they are a double platinum plug ford won't change plugs or even look at them unless the car has 100k on it cause that is how long platinum plug are claimed to last... I have just over 60k and I'm on my 3rd set...

So we don't need to have 2 different part number plugs in the car. Cause most places I call have only one part number for our cars. They think I'm nutz when I tell them that it lists 2 different numbers. ....Brad

Brad, If I rememebr correctly ( because I asked the same ayear back) it is because 2 had double platinm and 2 only had one platinum tip.. or something like that.. Now where did I hear that, it's very hard to remember, but I know it is something like that .. So in the end if you got the Autolite double platinums for example, you would be fine. since all four have double platinum tips and not just platinum on the electrode tip..
Autolite plugs for the contour should be available pretty much in most car parts stores.. they are called Autolite Platinum Pro # APP5344

I called the Dealerships service dept. The service mangr did not know so he investigated it. Yea he told me that the distributorless engines sent the voltage +to- on 1&2, and -to+ on 3&4. so ford cuts cost by using single platinum on 1&3. So the double platinum will work fine. And know she runs and idles just fine. Thanks for the responces. ....Brad
