I was reading through the Summit Racing Rice Book, or sport compact whatever. Anyway, I found three things about which I have questions.

1) Focus throttle body-part no. BBK-1751. Is this the same as the one Brad Noon was making? If this has been discussed already, I can't find it.

2) Crane Camshaft-part no. CRN-223-(0010/0012/0014). First of all, will this fit our Zetec, or at least my Zetec? Also, for 600 bucks, will I get any kind of gain? If so, about how much? Is this worth it?

3) MSD ignition coil-part no. MSD-8241. This is really the only one I care about. Is the MSD coil better than the Accel coil? I didn't know this one was available until now and I want to know which is better. The MSD is a little more exspensive, but that doesn't make it better.

Finding "Zetec" in a field of "Vtec", "Uncle Ben's", "Si", and "Hamster Power" was like a "Where's Waldo?" book.

If someone else has already found this stuff, way to go! Give me a link because I haven't found your post!

1) No the TB from a Focus wont work, maybe, just maybe you could switch over the Focus manifold also and get it to work.

2) Ye s the crane cams will work, go to the crane cams website and look in their import section for all there offerings for the Zetec. They also offer a whole new ignition system.

3) yes the coil will work, but I'm not sure which plug wires will be compatible with it(the only reason I don't own it already).

Cool, thanks man. I already have the Magnacor wires, would Summit know if they will work on the coil? Summit has both MSD and Accel coils, which is better?

I would think that emailing MSD would be more productive than Summit, but I would try both 'cause you never know.

I saw a thread a month or so ago and someone (can't remember who) was asking about that coil and I think that somebody else piped in with a part# and that they liked it.
Not much help but I'm about this )( close to getting it to try. Unfortunately, my wife and I are having another baby sometime this week so funds just mysteriously died up for about a year or so.

It's not much but it's something.
BTW, I looked through that whole catolog too and you named off everything in there for the Zetec except maybe the pretty hoses and bright lights.

I just remembered that WorldTour works at a performance parts distributer and I was the one who was asking around about it. If he could get one in shop to test if the Contour/ZX2 wires work with it our delimma would be solved.

the MSD coil will work for our cars and it has the ability to clip on the ford racing wires for thoses of you who were having that problem.

BTW MSD makes the ford racing wires too...

Worldtour, eh? Is that his user name? I'll send him a PM and see what can be done.

Andenthal, you left off the Eibach springs. laugh I found those, too, but everyone's already seen those. All in all, the words "Zetec, Focus, Ford, or Contour" appeared no more than 10 times in the whole magazine.
