I just got my 1999 contour about a month ago, and i already bought the CTA intake and waiting for it to come in, next i plan on working with my exhaust. I know its been talked about a lot but what will give me the most power.

i dont think actual testing has ever been done......but the consensus seems to be the most power robbing part of our exhaust, besides the crappy headers and the poor flowing exhuast manifold......would be the resonator.....that would be the place to start......get something free-flowing like dynomax and magnaflow....i have magnaflow and love it.......buy you some magnaflow components and have a shop build you the rest from the cat back........hope that helps......

The very most power would probably be from a Focus long-tube header opening straight into empty air... of course, you might be killed by carbon monoxide if you drove around with such a thing, so it's probably not street legal.

mods so far: CTA intake with homemade heat shield, KVR drilled front rotors & carbon pads w/ 500° fluid

Wooo Hooooo CTA intake! Good job!!! Get a better flowing cat (verdict is still out on removing it completely). Larger exhaust piping....NOT HUGE! Remove resonator...straight pipe. Good muffler.

Have Fun
