I've noticed that when it rains, and it's about 50-60 degrees out (Like it is every f**king day in Erie, PA) if I drive my 'Tour a little bit and then park it, the hood will steam. It's not smoke, I can tell that; when I open the hood nothing comes out, it's coming from the top of the hood. I'm guessing it's from heat, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem, or if I've got a major heat issue under the hood.

I live in the desert. The only time we see steam is when it rains during the monsoon season. Sorry I can't help ya

I live in greensburg, pa and many a days i have sat in my car watching the steam rise off. I know wiht mine the underhood heat shield is not there its just metal and paint so technically your hood is getting all the engine heat and it is evaporating the rain in to the cold air. So basically your hood is getting heated from the engine and evaporating the rain nothing big.

i gots the same problem, i wouldn't worry about it.

i have the same problem. but one day i noticed it start to smell....i had some dripping of oil! yeah but its hot here in texas, and when it rains i get the occasional steam.

Haven't really put much thought into it. But yes my car does the same thing.
