from what I have seen in the past is the VCT Zetecs don't show as good of improvements in power with mods as the non VCT zetecs do Not much to compare to but with cta exhaust and chip my vct has 122 fwh

The ONLY reason vct was used is for emission.Changing the cam event on the exhaut allows some residual exhaust gas to remain in the cylinders(egr !!!),the complex hub used on the cam drive takes the form of an oil fed 'sprag' clutch to kick the timing point back. Its operated by engine oil pressure via a solinoid. Was being developed in 1991 on the proto 'Zeta' (the engine prog WAS Zeta then, not Zetec)...as a 'cost save' on the egr valve, pipes and plumbing.....

How the hell do you have 122HP to the wheels with a CTA, exhaust, and chip on a automatic!? Something don't sound right. plus coil wires udp ect... Don't know other than I am damn near at sea level (love that Houston air)and it was a cold day maybe the dyno was off but the worst pull was 118 maybe I just have a happy motor. Gonna put it back on the dyno in acouple of weeks I'll post what it pulls this time. Personally I wasn't impressed with the numbers

The only thing you had was the UDP. I did not have one on my dyno but have one now. Still a happy motor with just an UDP is pulling 10 more HP to the wheels? At our dyno we had cool air it was only about 50 degrees out that day. I mean no dissrespect but something does not add up.

[/b]and don't forget when I dynoed with the pulley I only got 2hp with it but 8tq.... doesn't add up to me either BTW... BUT I didn't have a CTA on then either.... but I don't think it would make the pulley gain 10 HP but if it does plus what the CTA would give me I would have some large numbers.... maybe it just gives the ATX 10hp
Joe Hartley "yes I know it's a MTX Zetec but it beats having a ATX Duratec" Champagne 96 GL MTX some mods dynoed at 114.2whp and 124.4wtq (pre CTA intake) 16.858 @ 80.76mph (yes it's slow but still faster than D Davis) AIM: ZetecRacing My Site My Profile
