Has anyone done this to a Zetec? It's a nice little improvement to the Duratecs, just wondered if anyone would be willing to have me do it (for free this one time, plus shipping both ways which should only be a couple of bucks) to get an idea of the gains possible. I'd possibly make them for sale after that, the future price would depend on the work involved that I would learn off of the first one. Duratecs notice a nice gain in both throttle response and high-end rev range because of the improved efficiency of the TB. Anyone interested?

I'm interested. I'll check my local boneyard for one and let you know when I have one. If someone else gets there first so be it.
What are the possibilities for bolting on some sort of plate to the bottom of a mustang or something TB and using one of those? There has got to be a way to fit a bigger TB on these cars.

Agreed andenthal, once I see one up close, I'll begin looking for swap possabilities in local scrap yards. Until then, I want to try the same service I do for the Duratecs, only apply it to the Zetecs as a cheaper/easier solution.

Pollo, optimizing is removing or reducing any air flow obstruction on the stock TB. For the SVT and non-SVT Duratec TBs, that includes knife edging the entrance lip, smoothing the throttle plate bore lip, knife edging the throttle plate, removing the front half of the throttle plate bar, countersinking new screws, and a light polish. This not only increases the cross sectional area for better total air flow, but also speeds up air speed by making much smoother transitions.

Maybe I should send you mine and just let the 'tour sit in the garage for a while laugh

This is an excellent idea. I actually checked your site yesterday to try and learn about this but got sidetracked.

Bring it on... laugh So long as it's after SZ, I should be able to get it knocked out in a day, maybe two if I have to chase parts...

EDIT I can have cores here for $50 to reduce turn around time...

What exact day do you want it? I can send it anytime. Give me details. I have full access to a dyno afterwards for gains.
