More specifically Terry means to build the motor in such a way that it would be 'meant' for Turbocharging...i.e.lower compression, stronger rods etc...

hey terry, sorry to push the subject........but can you confirm that a brand new, a whole engine cost 1600 and if so......how much would it cost for the brand new engine with the proper teardown and upgrades to prep the engine for the turbo.....

Damn, if I'd known I could have a new one for $1600, I wouldn't have bothered tearing apart my old one, because it cost about that much.
The prices I was quoted locally were in the range of $2500 to $2900.
96 GL Zetec ATX, white with pinstripe, nickname " Sam Smooth " mods so far: CTA intake with homemade heat shield, KVR drilled front rotors & carbon pads w/ 500° fluid planned mods: exhaust (want to keep it quiet), e-ram (awaiting installation), diablo chip involuntary mods: compression increased after head gasket failure

WOW, thats not bad. I was thinking of spending $1500 just on the head. $2k for a whole re-build engine isn't bad. How much for a turbo ready engine?
Hell, how much for a 300hp drop-in with the turbo already on it? That would be the ultimate.
