The KKM for my car is on the way and next (if this is the next mod i should be doing to my zetec to add power) I want to put on an aftermarket exhuast. Anybody have any suggestions as to which exhaust set up will help perfromance (mostly off the line) but not make my car sound like as muscle car? I prefer an import or quieter "jet-engine" sound, over the "my car has huge balls" sound.

Or should i even be bothering with exhaust now? I have the plan as KKM, exhaust, then superchip, does that sound about right?

thanks
pete

Just go to your local muffler shop and have them custom make one for you. Then just add the ol' FartCannon muffler and you'll be import in no time!

dyno max mufflers are quiet and high flow and they will add power. if you have opened up the intake you should open up the exaust so the more air you can pull into the engine can get out. that will allow you to see more from your intake.

go to your local muffler shop like jen96tour says...

have them take off the resonator and put straight pipe in place of it...

and whatever muffler you choose...and bang your done...

i have a "vortex" and i love it...low burble or rumble at idle...under normal acceleration sounds deep and throaty and it screams under full accel...depends on what your lookin for...good luck!

and yea if your kkm is on the way, def need to add exhuast...chip after that and your well on your way to havin a nicely modded ztece my friend!

Let me know about howe much the custom pipes are. I'm interested it that and I know it will be different here, but a ballpark figure will be nice to go by (and bargain with) wink when I go see my local muffler guy.

I got my first (crush bent) 2 1/2in made and installed for about 100 plus change. That was with a crappy Dynomax ST and from the flex joint back. My most recent(2 1/2in catalytic cnv. 2 1/2 flex pipe and 3in mandrel bends) was quite a bit more laugh but very pleasing. And before people go ape **** and start talking about how 3 in pipe is WAAAAY to big for our cars(it is really I hate this exhaust right now)...let me just say these two words...TURBO PREP.
