VTEC's are horrible engines! and Honda owners think they are the best thing invented since the wheel.

This shouldn't even be a Topic...the 2002 SI couldn't even beat an ATX 95 Contour with 100+ miles on it. Infact the 2002 Si's basically STOLE the SVT Focus design !

You guys forgot why the VTEC rpm levels are so high in the first place? Studies show the only reason why is because with lower rpms the car wouldn't move. Meaning this piece of crap couldn't power a blow dryer! If they made a 9000rpm level on a Zetec it would probably overwhelm a Duratec maybe even a mustang engine...Because of the weight, power etc.

shocked shocked shocked shocked mad mad mad mad

Any way to up the RPMs? I was at the "12 hours of Sebring" race and, granted they are race cars, they had cars running in the 14000s. For 12 HOURS!!! There has to be something that we can do to up it a little and maybe add an oil cooler and water pump or something to counter it.

Just the occassional ego-boosting thread laugh

BTW, what does the Focus have to do w/ him wanting to up the RPMs? I have a funny feeling you're prepping to pull another BIG JAY and come down here to start ****.

Gator is talking about the Sebring race. And no, the Focus didn't have a very good showing did it? But what were those Saleens? Nobody had a good answer and I didn't want to spend $25 on a program that I would have lost anyway.
