The VCT is on the intake cam instead of the exhaust cam.
Personally I'd rather have a Zetec. For example my friend has a 00 Civiv Si with every bolt on mod out there. They are 160 Hp stock. I can hang with him until his Vtec kicks in. Vtec is only good maybe if you are racing on highways because all the power is made when the Vtec kicks in. Vtec=no torque :p
Just look at SCC April issue. The 200 Hp RSX dynoed at the wheels 168 Hp and only 122 ft-lbs of torque.

Yeah and did you compare the SVT foci to the RSX type-s....RESULTS:
RSX=200HP, 168whp and 122wflbs torque
SVT=170HP, 151whp and 147wflbs torque + it weighs 20lbs less and is 2inches shorter, and has a 4inch wider wheel base, and has a better suspension.
RESULTS:
Zetec= good ratios, less hp loss to the wheels
I-Vtec= good hp , bad tq, and horrible loss of hp and tq to the wheels, a scary 32hp loss!! ouch!
