Is this gonna happen? I made a cai from 3" stainless exhaust pipe and cut the fender well where the old airbox vent was. It sits down in the space behind the bumper. Lots of air hits it. It was pretty easy to do . I hooked it to the throttle body with a 3" elbow. I drilled and welded a piece for the air temp sensor then tapped it out. I cut the intake behind the battery and mounted the maf inline there. Then put last bent piece of pipe in with K&N filter and aem bypass valve. Even though stainless is heavier than aluminum it doesn't transfer heat even close to as fast as aluminum does. So no engine heat can affect air.
