Now that's an interesting idea. I'm already going to be lengthening my CTA by inserting an eRAM into it -- why not add a bit more pipe and somehow fit the filter into the wheelwell?

Would make it a ***** to take the filter out for cleaning, or even inspect it to see if it's getting dirty. Probably be a lot more exposed to some kinds of dirt, too. Maybe I should stick with my cheap heat shield.

I wish I could use 2.5 inch pipe instead of 3 inch. That would avoid an abrupt constriction at the TB and maybe make the flow more laminar. But the only kind of pipe readily available in that size off the shelf is PVC.
