Go to this thread and scroll down until you see a picture... that should give you a good idea of the dimensions of a pre-98 IAT screw threads. If you need to test it more accurately, you could just buy a loose one from Ford... though that won't answer wire harness questions.

CTA solved the pre-98 IAT problem by just drilling out a larger hole for it to screw into. This is not ideal, though, because (a) the screw body sticks into the airstream whereas in the stock intake only the ceramic tip sticks in, (b) the threading you get is not going to be good for more than one or two unscrew-and-screw-back-in cycles (when I put mine back on I'm going to use some thread compound to mitigate this as much as possible), and (c) the threads don't go flush up against the base, so you have to pick a random point to stop turning in the middle of the thread, and make sure to get the ceramic tip aligned crosswise to the airflow... the stock intake is much more foolproof because it had a properly made threaded hole which might be kind of hard to match.

I don't know what the ideal fitting might be for the second generation sensor... maybe you can just drill a smaller hole, or maybe some plastic bit jammed into the larger hole would be good.
