ohsigmachi-where have you been for the last ten years? there are tons of v8's that get great gas mileage. ever heard of lincoln Mark VIII? those will get 30 easily. cadillac? camaro? the new gm V8's get great mileage as well. just as good if not better than any stock zetec.
im still wondering what this world's fastest car is with the 4-cyl. can anyone enlighten me on it? this has to be a joke right? i can't imagine much beating the porsche 9whatever turbo to 60 mph with any engine, let alone a 4 banger. please, the suspense is killing me.

I know of a 1.5L Honda that runs 7.23seconds and my friends RX-7 runs 9.7's in quarter mile.

I must tell you that I agree with many of these people. Four bangers are beautiful things! I love my car! With its new engine (44,000 miles) it drives like a dream. But now, in the search for individualism , I am modding my zetec. I have started to make my own intake. Soon, I will have a straight pipe system that will make any Honda or Mustang owner look and go wow. There is a reason why Hondas are so popular. They are cheap, reliable, and respond well to modification. Same with the contour.  I love my car. Yeah a V6 would be nice but I will stick with my 4 banger. Everyone else can just suck it!!!!!!!!!!

hehe, also, if you don't liek 4 cylinders, then how about this:
give me 6 grand...i will buy a car AND modify it...no NOS...and i will WASTE any gt mustang out there, and even toy with vettes. How? RoadRaceEngineering.com has a thing called a "frankenstein" for a motor...all in all i could average about 500HP with that...then the intake, exhaust, headers, etc, and I could easily get to 550. Make a twin-turbo, and damn...buckle ur seatbelt

I hammered a Civic coupe the other day! I like my mondeo, its a well built, roomy and fairly fast motor. Of course it will be better when I hit 200+ BHP, which I intend to hit very soon!
