Haha, silly newbies. :p :p Think they don't need CAT's...that'll be the day. Catalytic convertors are an EPA regulation nothing state related. Totally federal, as far as my knowledge extends anyway. laugh

i agree with sq.......there is nothing state about your catalytic convertor.....that is completely federal......maybe even international.......i dunno about that one.......but even though you might not have to emissions anymore......i would be willing to bet you need a cat....

Ok then old timer. :p Tell me who would be the Federal organization that will be testing the emissions in my state (and mine alone?). I don't see how the EPA or any other federal org. will do it for one state alone. The others wouldn't allow FL to get away with not paying for it and letting the Feds pick up the tab. The feds aren't going to pay for the whole country to be tested. It boils down to "Who's gonna catch me?" laugh laugh

I'm not doing yet anyway. I'm just getting ideas. BTW, when does my newness wear off of my profile?

Your newness wears off when you start getting called old timer! eek

Like I said, the regulation is just that...a rule...its not breaking the rules if you don't get caught. So, what Florida doesn't require anymore is inspections...which means that you could run without a CAT and not have to worry about inspections.

Now why don't you run off and order up a Focus race header and let us all know how it works...mister CATless boy!! laugh laugh

Was the cat the only thing stopping us from using that header? If so, I will be seeking sponsors. If anyone is interested in trying this on MY car with your money and garage, let me know. I get to keep the parts.
Now I'll just sit back and wait for the offers to roll in.

Btw, I'm available for turbos, injectors, cams, etc. as well. cool laugh

There are a couple headers that don't eliminate the CAT but the good ones do(re full length race headers).

Oh, you had better grab a book and something to drink because you're gonna be sitting there for a loooooonnnng while. wink

Don't count on Jeb Bush staying in office past next year, or that policy staying in place without him.
