Terry and Mad Mole have said all along that the stock intake manifold is restrictive because it causes too much turbulence... and this product claims to help by adding even more?

96 GL Zetec ATX, white with pinstripe, nickname " Sam Smooth "
mods so far: CTA intake with homemade heat shield, KVR drilled front rotors & carbon pads w/ 500° fluid
planned mods: exhaust (want to keep it quiet), e-ram (awaiting installation), diablo chip
involuntary mods: compression increased after head gasket failure

If you look at most race Zetec motors they ditch the intake manifold early...for example the Alpha and Lumination throttle bodies and barrel throttle set ups..this has been common practice on DOHC 4 cylinders for some time...our new manifolds will help a lot...FWIW A PLAIN spacer does serve to increase the intake tract length which, on some motors with short runner paths, helps the low end,but once again we have a high revving 4 cyl DOHC,if you never want to go above 3,000rpm it would help, not the 'fan' set up but just a plan spacer, but at 'top end' when the intake has good gas velocity it will do little to enhance performance......rembember 'trumpets' and what they are for.... wink

i changed my name because i no longer have a pvc intake, due to possible side effects wink i'll just have to work up the money for a CTA setup (basically the same thing i had, but made out of pvc). maybe i should remake it out of abs plastic, i don't know.
the cta would still certainly look nicer.
