this might be worth a try...on other cars with pinging problems i've seen cleaning the fuel and intake systems with a profesional cleaner did the trick..i think it was because of carbon deposits glowing and actually detonating fuel with the conditions you describe. the cleaning would have to be something more than just a tank additive. one that hooks into a vaccuum line at the intake....good idea to do anyways and it might work
