you're in the wrong car my man. unless you have thousands to put into your crappy but reliable oil-starved zetec, it's a pooch any way you look at it.

Are you done?? Do you ever have anything useful to add to an arguement?? If you have please link me to it because I have yet to see it.

Thanks Brad.

He pretty much covered it tbunder.

But one question, do you ever get tired of being dumb? Because you certainly are good at it...

I still haven't figured out if tbunder is trying to be a troll or not. Sometimes he posts actual questions/responses, and then other times he sounds like some of our more colorful trolls... confused

Easier to get a chip this is what I noticed: it shifts from 1st to 2nd at 35 at 6000rpm, 2nd to 3rd at 70 (6000rpm), 3rd to 4th at 110 and just keeps on going.

Yes, it has one. I think you can call it a torque converter lock. One thing that a chip does, I understand, is to make more aggressive use of this lock so the power is going straight through much more of the time. The stock tranny program avoids this in order to keep the acceleration smooth. I gather that the chip lets each shift give you a jolt just like a manual.

Well during hard acceleration it shifts fairly smooth. Every other time it can shift hard at times.

The prior owner of my tour must have put a chip in then because when I'm racing, the trany shifts sharply and I do get os "jolt". Also the "torque converter lock" seems to come into play right when I need it! laugh
