You are.... by a long shot. I guess that's why we see so many Mark 8's blowing up the tracks huh? Maybe because the cars about 2- 3 tons and handles like a brick...

Oh and welcome to last week... How long did it take you to come up with that come back? Because it was pretty weak. You always seem to post at 2:30 in the morning so you can have the last word for a couple of hours don't you...

Silly...

I love my Contour, don't get me wrong, but a friend of mine has a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE-R and it's one nice little car. It's 4-door loaded to the gills and it's quick too, and he only paid like $14,500. brand new. Nissan made a nice car, you can't take that away from them.

And the Nissans are very reliable nowadys too. But still I think the Sentra is one ugly ass car. If they redesigned it to look like a midget new Altima instead of a midget old Maxima I would think about getting one, then again by the time that actually happens I could probably afford a new Altima with that good ole 240HP 3.5L anyway.

redhawk, i didn't realize lincoln built the mark VIII for the tracks. duh you idiot. either way, it will smoke any contour, svt or zetec. i think you're a little jealous cuz you didn't get one. your main wheels are an auto. with barely 120 horses, and not even at the wheels. and you're trying to get more out of that? did you have a dad? he would have taught you that the only way to go if you want true performance is a manual. yep, its real nice to just floor a 300 horse automatic trannied car at 70 and feel it thrust you back into the seatback (do that in a Mark VIII, then you'll know what im talking about), but all your zetec will do is take a couple seconds to shift and then just make a moosing noise. i know, i have one of them too. its true that some automatics now offer good performance, but tell me something, when you walk up to a newer Z28 or a newer mustang gt, do you even give it a second thought if it has an automatic? well, you probably do.

i will always have a comeback! :o)

Hmmmmm, if you don't think that tuning a Contour is worthwhile and especially a Zetec Contour in this part of the forums then why are you even here at the CEG? This forum is about Moding the Zetec engine not the forum about NOT moding the Zetec!

confused

I'm just gonna chime in and ask ya....aren't some of the higgest HP cars out there using automatics because you won't miss your shift and you can make sure you've got the same shifting all the time?? I mean...if you need a link to a supra running low 10's with an automatic tranmission...well then just Click here

I could go on....but i'd rather take a decent horsepower car, lighter in weight...then some tank with tons of horse power...any fool can make a Mark VII with tons of power....it takes some talent to do it with a zetec smile

Everytime I think you have learned something, I find you actually seemed to become more dim. Now, you can't even read.

Please re-read my posts and point out where I said an automatic was superior to a manual.

You are assuming my car only has 120 horses when it had 130 IIRC stock and that was before intake and exhaust work.

You were the one that said:

Performance (a word you used) is more than HP unless you want to only bench race engine (which I will admit you seem to be very good at).

I worry that you are aspiring to own a Mark VII- what are you like 65 years old or something?

Your arguments are so weak that you start talking about people's family. What's next- yo momma jokes?

A Mark VIII with 30mpg??? I'd really enjoying seeing which model that was...cause it's funny...i took the time to do a little research and here's what i found:

SPECIFICATIONS 1994 Mark VIII
Engine 285 hp 4.6-liter V8
EPA fuel econ. 18 m.p.g. city/26 hwy.
Curb weight 3767 pounds (Heavy ain't it?)
Wheelbase 113.0 inches
Length 207.3 inches

and lastly...we've got the 1998 Model Year....
Base Number of Cylinders: 8
Base Engine Size: 4.6 liters
Base Engine Type: V8
Horsepower: 290 hp @ 5750 rpm
Torque: 290 ft-lbs. @ 4500 rpm
Length: 207.2 in.
Weight: 3765 lbs.
Fuel Data
Fuel Tank Capacity: 18 gal.
EPA Mileage Estimates: (City/Highway)
Automatic: 17 mpg / 26 mpg
Range in Miles: (City/Highway)
Automatic: 306 mi. / 468 mi.

As you can see....i am not finding where you're getting this 30mpg rate at...also....you're bashing automatics...umm....can you buy Mark VIII's in manual?? I'm just curious smile
