Not when you get the 2000 SVT for 2K and the Mystique for 1K.

Now the only thing fake about the Car when I'm done, will be the VIN on the car the rest is real SVT. You could look at it like alot of work for an insurance discount.

Also I'm bord and I like making things.

Go Here for more information on the subject.

*Update*
After rereading your post I thought about what you said. You are correct it would be easier to just buy a new one. I even had the opportunity. I chose the path less traveled and it has made all the difference.

Sounds like you have the plan all worked out. So you will have the only Tropic Green 95 Mystique LS an SVT drivetrain. Cannot wait to see when it is finished.

As "retarded" as relying on the Ford owners manual to maintain the oil level in your car?

Is it hard to install a tach to the contour. I really want one. Where does it connect and hook up? Thanks

would an autometer tach be hard to hook up on a non-originally equipped 95 GL?

I can't find anyone, or know anyone that has added a tach to a Zetec. It would probably be similiar to adding one to a Duratec so you might try the performance forums.

This topic is regarding factory guage clusters that have a tach in them. They were few and far between if you had an ATX...the MTX got them standard I believe. And the Mystiques all had them from what I've seen. I got my new cluster from a 99 Mystique Zetec ATX and it works perfect..basically a 'plug n play' deal except for swapping out the speedo/odometer circuit board.

I have added a tach to my Zetec. Autometer ATM-3708. Only thing is you have to send it back to Autometer to get calibrated. (it is free) It would only read half the actual RPMs. eek

was not standard on the MTX I have a MTX and I don't have one and I have talked to a few other MTX owners on AIM and they don't have them either...

Damn, Ford is ALL jacked up in the head! How can you release a manual transmission car and not put a tach in it?!

I can probably find you a cluster if you're interested...the place I've been going to locally has many, many pre98 contours. You're a 96 right? I check next time I'm there and see if they have one. Or you could check on car-parts.com and see if there is one locally. Check in Colorado as well, I'd be happy to pick it up for you and ship it out. laugh
