My dang 99 Contour wont start. It pisses me off. It did this yesterday and now it is doing it today. It worked fine all day until then yesterday, and it worked fine all morning. I have no clue what the heck is wrong with it. Any help?

Tony

Dead battery? Contour batteries don't give much warning when they die. Just *poof*, and they're gone. Are you getting any other signs that could point to a dead battery?

Let me rephrase that. The car is cranking but will not start. It trys every once in a while, but then quits.

Crank Sensor or the Coil is unplugged. Two places to start looking.

Havent made any installations of aftermarket products under the hood. Where are the crank sensor and coil located?

The Coil is off to the side of the engine above the Transmission. Just look to the right of the Valve cover. You'll see 4 caps with wires going to it. The Crank sensor is on the bottom of the engine but I can't seem to find it in the Service Manual I'l have to look at the DVD monday.

Well it wasnt the battery, cause it went empty and then we bought a new one, and it still doesnt work. We arent sure if the distributor is the coil, and we cant find the Crank sensor even with the Haynes manual, so we are just gonna take it to Ford while its still under warranty. Thanx for yalls help.

There is no distributor. The thing that the spark plug wires plug into is the coil.
