redline in 3rd is around 85 MPH  redline in 4th is around 110 MPH  5th will go until it can't go no more. haven't found that one yet.

1st-2nd 35mph
2nd-3rd 70mph
3rd-4th 110mph
3rd overdrive off - 125mph
all hard driving shifts at 5800-6000 rpms

In UK, Mk1 Zetec was 136 BHP standard at 6000 rpm. Engine cut out at 7200rpm
All but very base models here have Rev counter
Power drops off very rapidly after 6000 so change up then (See my postings earlier with Zetec Dyno charts to see profile)
Mines balanced and will rev out to 8000 rpm with no probs, but no point as no power there

Damn, I leave the post overnight and get a ton of responces. Thanks for all of the information. I guess I havent shifted to terribly hard because I havent hit the rev limiter yet.

Rev limiter is nothing. I hit many times before I got my chip. My HP did drop alot at 6000rpm and kept dropping until 6800. Peak HP was at 5800rpm. I need more power.

SQPlus.. what happened ?? Why I have 3 times the same post ???  About reaching the Rev Limiter... u guys are CRAZY !!!!!!!! I used to do that on my other car... A Fiat Palio 1.0 !! I had to... it only had about 60 HP.... - Hey YOU !! Don't Laugh, ok ??? But I won't ever do that to my baby... I love her too much....

well i have an Automatic, and i can hold it off to about 40mph in 1st, then to about 70-72 in 2nd before i can put it in drive, it shifts to 4th about 95 mph...

Various other crap, no more mods for a while, just moved.

I've been trying to get the 4th gear info @ 5500 rpm, also, but I haven't had an opportunity to go that fast lately. I know it'll be somewhere around 100 mph...if I ever get a chance to try, I'll post it for you, B.
