O.K. all you zetec people, there has been much talk about the 6psi turbo for the zetec atx/mtx engines. I made this post just to make clarification on what you will need to put this turbo in your tour. So, if anyone could make a 1-10 list of these mods i'm sure we would have less confusion! cool

Bigger exhaust
Some sort of engine/fuel management for the 300HP kit

and that's about it.

The kit comes with a de-compression gasket for that very purpose. laugh

With a turbo, bigger exhuast is always better!

i know i need a bigger exhuast, i just want to make sure 2.25 will be big enough as that is the exhaust that is being shipped to my house, i dont want to have to go back and buy another exhuast down the road or anything..........

Don't know about the zetec since it's "uncharted territory" but for example on my thunderbird, it came with dual 2.25 from the factory. My 3" single exhaust really added a lot of power, probably 8-10hp, but the major benefit wasn't the power boost, it was how much it cut the turbo lag.
I would, with the stock exhaust, see full boost around 2900-3000rpm; with the 3" it was at full boost by 2200-2300rpm. That made for a huge performance and drivability gain.
So, yes 2.25" will probably be sufficient, but in the future 3" would be a definate upgrade.
