Wise idea Dan. I too did this mod with my 5.0 Mustang. Got all the parts from scratch/free as I work in the electrical industry. Used #2 welding cable for maximum flex anmd proper current capability. It IS a huge pain in the butt to do it properly/neatly/professionally. On that note, I swore never to do it again as the gains are minor. Unless of course, you're racing where you search high and wide for every tenth of a second.

Can you picture the space below the current battery box? What if we made a bracket and put one or two half-sized batteries there, Then maybe a third small dry cell in the trunk to feed my power hungry stereo? This would free up all the room, and would distribute battery storage/weight around the car.
