Hi Guys,
Sometime ago I took the decision to improve the performance of the brake system on my ?Tour? by installing a set of Aeroquip (stainless braid exterior) Brake Hoses, which I procured from BAT Inc. However, ever since then I been experiencing some very strange behavior from my ABS System, Radio & Keyless Entry System the nature of which is as follows.
Whenever, it rains my ABS warning light comes on and stays on, in addition, my Radio continues to play and the Keyless Entry System does not function despite the fact that the key has been removed from the ignition. This gives me the impression that something is causing the ignition circuit to behave as if the key is still in ignition switched to the accessory position. However, as soon as things dry out every thing returns to normal and all systems function properly. Could all this be a result of the BAT Inc Aeroquip (stainless braid exterior) Brake Hoses i.e. could their stainless braid exterior be causing an electrical short circuit when they become wet results in the above-mentioned problems. Do any of you Guys that have these Brake Hoses installed experience any similar problems?
Looking forward to the usual helpful comments, opinions & suggestions

It almost seems like you have two seperate problems. One being the ABS light, and the other being that the radio continues to play. Both occuring at the same time could be coincidence.

I don't think that the stainless lines would have anything to do with those odd problems, but when you installed them, you may have messed something up. Like knocking around the ABS sensor er somethin like that.

I kinda sorta remember a post up in the problems forum that described a similar problem with the radio and stuff not turning off when the key was removed. See if you can find it by searching through there, if not, repost your question(s) up there.

My ABS light will come on when the undercarrage gets wet as well. Its more common if I go through a automatic car wash that washes the bottom of the car. It goes off within a day, so it hasn't got me too worried.

BTW, pulling the ABS fuse won't turn the light off. You can make the car skid though. laugh
