I beg to differ - the bigger the wire = less resistance = more current.
Example: I have had my own jumper cable made out of 00 ga. welders cable for quite some time now. A couple of years ago, a girl's battery was dead in the parking lot at school so I helped her try and push start it. Didn't work, so we used her cables (Wal Mart special 10 guage or something). Didn't work. I pull my cables out (longer than hers) - cranked on the first try.
