This is the $50 Summit Racing Kit. Not bad, but I didn't like the bracket that hold down the battery across the top, it was cheesy. I may make a billet pice to replce it in the future.

do you have clue how big that is??? well over an inch in diameter. Let's see some pics. I'm not saying I don't believe you but...i don't believe you. And why wouldn't you believe him? My brother's done the same thing and so have I. Take a good look at 00 and 1. Not a whole lot of difference in size. Besides that, what's the big deal ? John

Another option (originally suggested by "Quicksilver") is putting a 13.5 lb "Dynabat" lightweight battery (about $150) in stock location - save about 25-30 lbs upfront, much less hassel. I will be doing this.

Wise idea Dan. I too did this mod with my 5.0 Mustang. Got all the parts from scratch/free as I work in the electrical industry. Used #2 welding cable for maximum flex anmd proper current capability. It IS a huge pain in the butt to do it properly/neatly/professionally. On that note, I swore never to do it again as the gains are minor. Unless of course, you're racing where you search high and wide for every tenth of a second.

Hey Folks, I know this is an old topic, but I'm thinking about doing the relocation too. However, I was wondering from a warranty perspective whether or not this will affect Ford's basic 3/36 and ESP policies? Will it void warranty work altogether since almost everything under the hood is invariably tied into the car's electricals?
Thanks,
David L

I remember someone installing a dynabatt and turning their fuse assembly sideways, to conserve space? Demon????(I think it was...) Anyways, thats the route I think I'd like to take, so if anyone has any pics(or remembered who did it so I can pester them for pics), that would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

ok this maybe a dumb question but I'm new and you don't learn anything if you don't ask...
why relocate the batt? what will it do for the car except take up the same space in the truck (which doesn't vent fumes like the engine bay does) as it would in the engine bay. are there actual gains from it? sorry but I want to learn the ways of the great one... bazz

To make room for a S/C, make a good ram air set up, clean up the engine compartment, just because When moving the battery to the trunk, you should really get a sealed batt, so you don't have to worry about venting it. Does that help??.......and what do you do at Ft Lost in the Woods??? I was there for Basic/AIT in late 90. 12 Bravo!!
