You are correct Sir...HAA.It is the timing belt. They tend to hit the top ov the cover when they are cold,no worries Worry if it does it all the time.

Some do it ,some don't. Mine doesn't. Just keep an ear on it.

If it does it all the time get it into a shop and have them look at it. The dealership I took it to put some washers inbetween the timing belt cover and the engine. Cheap way out, but got the job done.

Mine has done it for 2 years now. Just like you said, every once in awhile, and only when cold. No problems yet. Im not too worried.

What happens if it does it all the time? Does it mean that you need a new timing belt?

mine did it all time
so i replaced my timing
tensioner,I also replace
my belt it just made sense
replace one might as well
the other especially when
they go hand in hand..
also what weight oil r u
using? that also can be a
problem. I had a 10w30 and
it would make clicking noises
untill the oil got distributed
throughout my engine so I went
with manuf.Req. 5w30 no more
clicking
