Over our side of the pond an FSE valve (Adjustable fuel pressure regulator) is a very common mod. It cures the flat spots caused by fitting free'r flowing air filters

I read about this cheap mod in SCC. I am very curious too. Also in SCC they talk about putting the Fuel Pressure Gauge right on the tubing. Why not move it to say the A pillar pods? Again, As anyone done this?

Yep I have the FSE, it helped with flatspots before I got a Unichip.

Does have a drawback though. Mine tends to let the fuel pressure creep up. I set mine for 3.1 bar (Standard is 2.4) but after a month or so it slowly creeps up to 6 bar which causes the injectors to dribble at idle and pushes emmisions right up.

Now have the AEM Focus pipe fitted (Pig of a job, not a direct bolt on)

lost 9HP at 4000 rpm. Good thing I have the Unichip so after a quick remap I got an extra 7Hp at 6000 rpm

So grand total is now 166 FWHP (195 BHP flywheel)
